TOWN councillors have hit out hard at a decision to pull the plug on a crime-busting youth scheme in west Teignmouth.'A kick in the teeth', 'cruel', and 'shortsighted' were among the comments on Tuesday when they debated the abrupt ending by the county council of the youth inclusion programme, which offered youngsters constructive activities to keep them away from trouble.It led to a 40 per cent drop in crime and anti-social behaviour, and was praised by police and other organisations but – as exclusively revealed inthe Teignmouth Post – was abruptly axed by County Hall to save £100,000 a year.
