CHAINSAW artist Andrew Frost has already made great progress on crafting a throne on Dawlish Lawn.
A dying tree had to be felled earlier this year, leaving a 1.5m stump.
After gauging public opinion about what the stump should become, the suggestion of making it into throne proved the most popular.
The town council commissioned Andrew, from Derbyshire, to fashion the chair which it’s hoped will become a landmark.
The throne will incorporate motifs reflecting the town and is expected to be completed early next week, weather permitting.
