WORK is well under way to restore a sub-tropical garden in Teignmouth, a public meeting heard.Teignbridge senior countryside ranger Sian Avon said the Dell, in Eastcliff Park, had been laid out about 100 years ago for Herbert Marden, a Bristol printer who had a home at nearby Cliffden.The landscaping work was reputedly undertaken by Belgian refugees from the first world war and numerous exotic plants introduced, many of which survive.The silted up ponds have been cleaned out and resealed in the last few years, with the last one emptied recently.
