ILLEGAL production of hooch at Channings Wood prison, increasing lockdowns and a building ‘not fit for purpose’ are just some of the serious concerns raised in a damning report by independent inspectors.
Inmates are producing their own illegal alcohol using sugar and fruit and there is widespread use of cannabis substitutes and there is evidence of a rising number of ‘extremely serious incidents’, according to the Independent Monitoring Board’s annual report.
