A NEWTON Abbot care home recently held an afternoon tea-party bringing together residents, their families and friends for a day filled with joy, music, and community spirit.
The event at Southlands Residential Home, a part of Rose Care Group, featured homemade cakes, live entertainment and a variety of activities.
Guests enjoyed a live performance by a talented singer, who kept the crowd entertained with uplifting music.
The atmosphere was positively lively, with hampers up for raffle and a fun tombola drawing eager participants.
A highlight of the event was the craft stall, showcasing handmade items created by the residents during their craft sessions.
One resident, a talented artist, contributed hand-painted greeting cards for sale.
All proceeds from the tea party will go towards the residents’ activities fund, which supports enriching programs and outings.
‘We will be asking the residents how they would like to spend this money,’ said Carol Dyke, Registered Manager at Southlands.
‘It is important that they have a say in choosing the activities and experiences that bring them the most happiness’, Carol added.
Reflecting on the event and the home’s commitment to care, Carol said: ‘We are so proud to be a premium care home within the Rose Care Group.
‘Events like these highlight the wonderful community spirit at Southlands, and we are equally dedicated to offering top-tier day care services that extend beyond just residential care’.
‘The afternoon was a resounding success, filled with laughter, creativity, and a strong sense of community, reinforcing Southlands Residential Home’s dedication to providing not only exceptional care, but also memorable experiences for its residents and their families’.
