THE case against a man accused of assaulting a prison officer has been adjourned.

Joshua Bowering, aged 26, c/o Specialist Services at Ravenswood House in Knowle, was charged with assaulting an emergency worker, prison officer Joseph Parker, by beating at Newton Abbot.

The case was adjourned by South and West Devon Magistrates' Court until August 4 at the request of the prosecution.
