POLICE were called to an accident involving a car and a motorbike in Newton Abbot yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.

A spokesman for the Devon and Cornwall Police said: ‘We were called at around 2.40pm with reports of a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Exeter Road, Newton Abbot.

‘A female motorcyclist was taken to hospital with a leg injury which is not believed to be life-threatening.

‘The road was reopened by 4.20pm.’
