A VEHICLE caught fire on Haldon Hill yesterday evening (Tuesday).

Fire control received a call at 7.45pm from a driver reporting their vehicle on fire near Haldon Hill.

A fire service spokesperson said: ‘One fire engine from Middlemoor and one fire engine from Danes Castle were quickly mobilised to the scene.

‘On arrival crews confirmed smoke and flames were issuing from the vehicle.

‘Crews were able to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.  ‘The driver of the vehicle was treated by ambulance (SWAST) personnel and the fire is believed to be accidental.’
