A PASSENGER was injured when a car collided with a tractor on the Newton Abbot to Totnes road at Ipplepen yesterday (22 January).

The casualty was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital after suffering suspected broken ribs. It’s thought the glare of the sun low in the sky may have been a possible cause of the accident which happened at 3.30pm.

The collision between a black Totnes-registerd Peugeot and a green Ogwell-registered John Deere tractor towing a trailer of manure happened near the Pig and Whistle pub at Littlehempston.

The accident caused traffic congestion on the A381 which eased once the scene was cleared nearly two hours later.
