TEIGNMOUTH’s Lifeboat crews have had two shouts for help this week.

Yesterday, Tuesday, they helped in the search for a missing person.

On Monday they were involved in rescuing a person clinging to a buoy.

A spokesperson for the Teignmouth RNLI said: ‘A person clinging onto a buoy at Holcombe was rescued by Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat crew and a Coastguard team in the early hours on Monday.

‘The volunteer lifeboat crew launched the Two Annes lifeboat at 1.30am and were promptly on scene.

‘The casualty was taken aboard the lifeboat and returned to the lifeboat station where he was handed to SW Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust.’

Of yesterday’s search ofr a missing person they said: ‘The Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat crew had another early wake up call when they were tasked to assist in the search for a missing person yesterday morning.

‘The crew launched both lifeboats and carried out a search on the river Teign.

‘Nobody was found and the crew were stood down and returned to station at 6.55am.

‘It is understood that the person has since been safely located.’
