FIREFIGHTERS from across Teignbridge were part of a 100-strong team called in to tackle a shed fire in Torquay which spread to three terraced properties nearby yesterday (tues).

Crews from Newton Abbot, Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Chagford were part of the 12-pump blaze in the resort’s Shirburn Road which took off just after 3pm.

The aerial platform was among the appliances called in to help quell the blaze affecting the three-storey properties.

Firefighters were still at the scene six hours later damping down.

Pumps from as far afield as Crediton and Honiton were called out.
