A MOTORCYCLIST suffered a serious back injury when his Triumph machine collided with a car in Teignmouth yesterday afternoon (Sunday, March 5).

The rider, from Paignton, was rushed by ambulance to Torbay Hospital after the accident which happened at the Clay Lane junction with Bitton Park Road.

It’s thought the casualty also suffered broken ribs and a head injury in the accident with a Vauxhall car just before 3pm. The Devon Air Ambulance was called to the scene, although the patient was taken to hospital by a land vehicle.

It’s understood the casualty was likely to be transferred later to Plymouth’s Derriford Hospital.
