A POLICE hunt for a missing man – which saw officers rush to Newton Abbot’s Bakers Park yesterday (August 15) – was called off hours later when he was found safe and well in Kingsteignton.

Ten police patrol vehicles were parked up at the local beauty spot as part of the search for the 45-year-old after concerns had been expressed about his welfare.

The police helicopter was brought in to scour the area in the early afternoon.

Officers called off the hunt in the evening when the man was traced to a venue in Kingsteignton.

A police spokesman confirmed the man was safe and well.
