THREE fire engines from Newton Abbot and Torquay, along with an officer, helped free a man trapped following a crash on the A380 at Wapperwell this afternoon (Sunday).

A spokesperson said the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a road traffic collision with people still within the vehicle.

‘On arrival at the incident crews found there to have been a two vehicle collision, with one person still in the front seat of a private car.

‘Crews used small tools to extricate one male casualty from the car.

‘The incident was left in the hands of police and ambulance services.’
