FIRE crews from Newton Abbot, Paignton and Torquay were sent to a report of a man stuck in a drain after he tried to retrieve a lost ring.

On arrival at Queens Park Road, Paignton, crews confirmed that the man was stuck but his head and shoulders were above ground.

Fire personnel from the Paignton appliance rescued the 40-year-old from the drain and also confirmed that he was uninjured.

All other appliances were able to be returned to their home stations.
