A TOASTER was said to be the cause of a small fire in Teignmouth on Saturday.

Fire crews were mobilised after smoke was seen coming from the window of a house on Bitton Park Road at around 2:30pm.

An ambulance was then called to provide care for a man who was suffering from smoke inhalation. An elderly woman was also led to safety.

Firefighters used a ventilation fan to clear the property of any remaining smoke.

It was reported that the toaster was the only thing damaged in the incident.
