THREE fire appliances from Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and Torquay responded to reports of a kitchen fire in Kingsteignton this morning (Saturday 18th Nov)

On arriving at Oakymead Park crews confirmed there had been a fire involving an electric extractor hood in a kitchen.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "Firefighters investigated using a thermal imaging camera and small tools to confirm that the fire was out.

"The fire, which was accidental, caused slight damage to the extractor hood and smoke damage to the rest of kitchen"

Crews made the scene safe and left the property in the hands of the occupier.
