TWO garden sheds were destroyed in a fire in Newton Abbot yesterday evening (Saturday).

Two fire appliances from Newton Abbot and Torquay were sent to reports of a shed on fire in gardens at Reynell Avenue at around 9.30pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: ‘The shed was well alight on arrival and crews got to work using two breathing apparatus sets and two hose reel jets.

‘Shortly after getting to work crews increased breathing apparatus to four and hose reel jets increased to three.

‘In total two garden sheds were 100 per cent damaged by fire and one shed 20 per cent damaged by fire. The cause was believed accidental.’
