TEIGNMOUTH’S former ‘cop shop’ has now been converted into a charity shop.

The Wellington Street premises were changed at great cost a few years ago to give a police presence in the town when the 1960s police station in Carlton Place was closed on economic grounds, and turned into flats.

Now an even bigger chunk of money has to be sliced from the police budget, and the cop shop is one of the victims, meaning there are no police premises in the town that can be visited by the public.
