FIREFIGHTERS from Dawlish were alerted to a reports of a road accident in Shaldon yesterday after a car flipped on its side on black ice.

Just before noon, the crew, along with colleagues from Torquay fire station, attended the scene of a single vehicle accident.

When they arrived, they found the vehicle on its side but everyone in the car was already free from the wreckage.

Firefighters set about making the vehicle safe.
