FIRE crews had to cut free two people trapped in a two vehicle crash this afternoon (Sunday) in St Marychurch Road, Newton Abbot.
The fire service was called to help other emergency services involving a road traffic collision where people were believed to be trapped.
Two crews from Torquay and one crew from Newton Abbot attended.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘On arrival the crews confirmed that there was a collision involving two vehicles where two persons were trapped in one vehicle.
‘The crews got to work using electronic hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof and doors of the vehicle to gain access for ambulance personnel to treat the casualties.
‘The casualties were removed from the vehicle and conveyed to hospital.
‘The incident was left in the hands of the police.’
