A FIRE crew from Newton Abbot was called in to release someone trapped in a toilet cubicle at a Kingsteignton store this afternoon (Thursday).

The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has not named the store in its report of their unusual rescue mission at the Greenhill Retail Park, Newton Road, Kingsteignton.

A spokesperson said: ‘One fire engine from Newton Abbot was mobilised to a report of a person stuck in a toilet cubicle in a retail outlet.

‘Crews gained entry to the cubicle using a reciprocal saw and small tools, the person was released unharmed.’
