A KITCHEN was badly damaged in a Teignmouth house fire in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Three fire crews - two from the resort and one from Dawlish - tackled the blaze in Woodland Avenue just after 5am.

The fire, which left the rest of the property smoke-damaged, was extinguished just after 6am.

A fire spokesman said the incident was believed to be accidental.

Firefighters wearing breathing gear used a hosereel jet and safety jet to douse the flames.

All people inside were accounted for, said the spokesman.
