THREE fire crews rushed to a tumble dryer blaze in the basement of a hotel in Teignmouth.

Two jets were used to knock out the flames at the Bay Hotel premises in the resort’s Powderham Terrace.

The alarm was raised just after 5pm on Monday. Two crews from Teignmouth attended together with a team from Dawlish.

A high-powered fan was used to clear smoke from the building.
