AN adult and child were evacuated from a property in Teignmouth this morning while firefighters tackled a nearby shed fire.

Two crews from the town were sent to Second Avenue at 1am to deal with the blaze.

Breathing apparatuses and a hose reel were used to put the fire out before a thermal imaging camera was used to ensure the area was safe.

Some 40 per cent of the shed was damaged in the incident.
