A DRIVER was trapped in their car early this morning (Wednesday) after crashing into a tree at Kingsteignton

Fire crews from Newton Abbot and Torquay were initially sent to the B3195 at Kingsteignton shortly before 12.30am at the request of the Police.

A Fire control spokesperson described it as ‘A one vehicle RTC, involving a car that had left the carriageway and impacted with a tree, trapping the driver.

‘As details of the incident were established during the initial call it was decided to mobilise our Heavy Rescue Vehicle from Middlemoor (Exeter) to assist with the extrication of the casualty. 

‘After liaising with Ambulance paramedics crews confirmed at 1am that the casualty had been released uninjured using small tools and was being conveyed to hospital by land ambulance.

‘Crews then made the vehicle and scene safe before leaving duty of care with the police.’
