A drug dealer from Kingsteignton is to be assessed to see whether he can undergo drug rehabilitation instead of going to prison.
Martyn Morrison, aged 41, of Prescott Way, Kingsteignton, admitted possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply and is due to be sentenced at Exeter Crown Court.
His case was adjourned by Judge David Evans to allow the probation service to prepare a report. He was released on bail.
Mr Rupert Taylor, defending, said the case dates back to 2017 and Morrison has used the two years since his arrest to overcome a heroin addiction and work with the drug service Together.
He told the judge there is a positive report from Together and he will be urging him to allow him to continue his rehabilitation. He said Morrison has a stable home and is working as a roofer.
Judge Evans said: ‘This is a case in which the passage of time falls in the defendant’s favour.’
