A PERSON coasteering who suffered a suspected back injury yesterday afternoon (Saturday) was helped by Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat crew.
Members of the volunteer lifeboat crew received a call to launch at 1.30pm.
An RNLI spokesperson said: ‘When they arrived on scene near Anstey’s Cove the Air Ambulance helicopter was already on the beach.
‘Three members of the lifeboat crew went ashore and helped transfer the casualty to the helicopter.
‘The crew stood down and returned to station, the lifeboat was ready for service at 2.25pm.
‘The RNLI would recommend that people coasteering do so with an organised group.’
