FIREFIGHTERS from Newton Abbot tackled a car blaze on the outskirts of the town over the weekend.

Two crews were despatched to Wapperwell on the Exeter-bound carriageway of the A380 on Sunday morning.

The vehicle was well alight when they arrived on scene just before 10.30am.

A hosereel jet was used to extinguish the blazing vehicle which was left ‘severely damaged.’

Police also attended the incident.
