A FISH tank heater was found to be the cause of a fire at a property in Teignmouth.

Two fire crews from the resort arrived at the home in Orchard Gardens to find no obvious signs of a blaze, although a smell of burning was picked up.

Their noses led them to the fish tank where some nearby skirting board had been affected by the small fire.

The property’s electrical supply was isolated and the property made safe.

The incident happened just before 4am on Friday.
