TEIGNBRIDGE Council leader Jeremy Christophers said of the attempted murder charge involving fellow councillor Douglas Hellier Laing: ‘It’s an emerging story. We can’t comment further. Up until 30 minutes ago we didn’t know anything about it all.’

He said before this morning meeting of Teignbridge’s Executive Committee: ‘I’ll leave it at that. We are not in a position to comment.’
