VOLUNTEERS throughout Devon have been thanked by the Police and Crime Commissioner, Alison Hernandez, in a new video.

Among the people the commissioner thanks are Newton Abbot Mayor Mike Joyce and his wife, Sandra, who are featured in the video.

Cllr Joyce is a Police Advocate and member of the local Speedwatch group which aims to make our roads safer.

He also writes a column in the paper in his role as Police Advocate.

In the film the Commissioner describes the homage as ‘Since the start of the pandemic, our office and its army of volunteers have been very busy.’

She describes the video as ‘What we’ve achieved with our army of volunteers.’
