A man from Dawlish has appeared at Exeter Crown Court accused of wounding a man who was hit by a car in Teignmouth last month.

Ross Norman did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm his name when he appeared at the preliminary hearing.

Judge Graham Cottle adjourned the case for two weeks to allow the prosecution time to send more evidence to the defence.

Norman, aged 23, of Carlton Terrace, Dawlish, is accused of dangerous driving and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Both charges relate to an alleged hit and run incident in Northumberland Place, Teignmouth at 2 pm on Wednesday, December 16, in which a man suffered head and shin injuries.
