The A38 in Devon was closed this afternoon (Monday) after a two vehicle crash on Haldon Hill.

A woman had to be cut from one of the vehicles.

A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘A fire appliance from Middlemoor and one from Danes Castle attended reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision on the A38 at East Haldon.

‘Upon arrival crews confirmed there to be one female medically trapped within one of the vehicles. Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools to successfully release the female from the vehicle.’

A police spokesperson said: ’Police were called with reports of a collision involving a car and caravan on the A38 at Haldon, Exeter, at around 11.45am. It was reported the car and caravan have left the road and the car is on its side.’
