A NEWTON Abbot drug-driver has been banned for 36 months after she was twice caught by police while over the limit.

Hannah Georgina Grice, aged 39, of Neville Road, Newton Abbot, pleaded guilty to having 3.682 grams of cannabis in her possession at Tavistock on October 30.

South and West Devon Magistrates’ Court imposed a community order and fined her £120 for this. She must also pay a £95 victim services surcharge and £85 Crown Prosecution Services costs. An order was made for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed.

Grice also admitted two charges of driving while over the drug-drive limit. On October 14 a test revealed she had 2.6 micrograms of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in her blood when she drove on the A386 at Mary Tavy. Magistrates banned her for 36 months for this and imposed a community order.

On December 14 when she was driving on Ashburton Road, Newton Abbot, a test revealed she had 3.6 UG/L of the controlled drug THC in her blood. She was banned for 36 months for this. The court said it had taken her guilty pleas into consideration when sentencing her.
