AN 11-year-old girl from Newton Abbot has embarked on a Harry Potter readathon to raise funds for a dyslexia charity.
Darcy Knight has set herself the challenge of reading all seven Harry Power books - that's 3,733 pages - throughout February to raise money for the Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity.
‘I am dyslexic, which means reading can sometimes be a challenge for me - but that's what makes it so special’, Darcy said.
‘Instead of seeing dyslexia as something that holds me back, I like to think of it as my superpower, because it's taught me how to be brave and determined’, Darcy added.
The Helen Arkell Dyslexia Charity provides specialist support, advice and information to people with dyslexia, parents, teachers and employers.
‘I want to show everyone that being dyslexic does not mean you can't achieve amazing things’, Darcy said.
