DOGS are to be banned from several Teignbridge beaches as of next month.

From April 1, Teignmouth, Shaldon, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren beaches will introduce a dog ban.

The ban will last until September 30.

‘This is so that we can keep our bathing water and beaches as tip-top as possible for all our residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the summer months’ a spokesperson for Teignbridge District Council said.

‘There are still lots of places where our four legged companions are welcome, including beaches such as the River Beach (back beach) Teignmouth, Ness Cove and Holcombe beach’ the spokesperson added.
