Forecasting fun in the sun

AFTER 90 days of almost continuous rain, wind and cold, Teignmouth carnival organisers feared this year might be a washout.
They had visions of a waterlogged Den and a scarcity of holidaymakers, scuppering the 12 months of hard work that went into preparing the week of entertainment and fun.
But their prayers were answered, when summer arrived just at the right time on Saturday, bringing a week of sun and heat.
It is looking like one of the best carnivals for some time
