Third torch sails in
Friday, 01 June 2012
A THIRD Olympic torch came through Teignmouth at the weekend.
A replica of the 1948 Olympic sailing torch was sailed from Babbacombe Quay to Teignmouth harbour in a catamaran by Sea Sports South West, as part of a relay along the coast to Weymouth, where the 2012 sailing events are being held.
The 1948 sailing competition was held in Torbay.
It was then taken up the Teign to Coombe Cellars by a windsurfer, and brought back again to the harbour for a celebration barbecue and music at the sea sports base.
