Hopes high as show celebrates all things great about the county
Friday, 18 May 2012
Cheers: John Parkes, from the Red Rock Brewery, Bishopsteignton.
THIS year’s Devon County Show is a celebration of all things great in the British countryside.
The star attraction this year is the Royal Canadian Mounted Police performing a musical ride.
Their appearance is only one of two in the UK, with the other at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant at Windsor Castle.
‘We are loving Devon,’ said Constable Marc Fournier, who rides a 17.3 hands high horse called Steele.
‘It’s a great experience to be in England and be at the county show. It’s also an honour to perform for the Queen.
