Scarlett is mayor’s cadet

TEIGNMOUTH has its youngest yet mayor.

Cllr James McMurray, 30, a teacher at Brixham Community College, was sworn in at the annual town council meeting on Tuesday.

He spoke of a busy year ahead, including the Olympics and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations ‘which had only been made possible because of a small army of volunteers’.

‘It is these type of occasions where Teignmouth really excels.
