COMPANIES TOLD TO ABANDON WHITECLEAVE QUARRY PLAN

THE Buckfastleigh Community Forum (BCF) jubilant after plans for an incinerator bottom ash processing plant at Whitecleave Quarry were turned down, is calling on the companies who applied for the facility to back-off.

MVV Environment Ltd and Sam Gilpin Demolition Ltd have already announced they will appeal to the Planning Inspectorate against last Wednesday’s Devon County Council Development Management Committee refusal by a 6-5 vote.

Requesting the companies to drop any appeal, Neil Smith, the co-chairman of the BCF, said there is now a moral imperative to put an end to this proposal.
